Positive: We were up graded on check in the room was very spacious which was fabulous .There was a selection of sweets to help yourself in the foyer and on check out we were given a bottle of water and a bar of chocolate for our onward journey
Negative: WE hired a car from this location but cannot park near hotel because of the trams

Positive: Beautiful classic hotel in the heart of Basel. The staff was excellent. One of the best dinners of our travel was at the restaurant in the hotel.
Negative: There are stairs in the entry- might be hard if you have disabilities

Positive: Husband had breakfast there and said it was amazing. Room was huge but stairs in the room were tricky. First class hotel. Best steam room ever and Im obsessed with steam rooms.
Negative: Very noisy, construction going on right around hotel. Windows weren’t soundproof enough.

Negative: Steps in the room. House keeping did not clear away dirty cups.

Positive: The hotel is impeccably clean and well appointed. The staff are multi-lingual, courteous, and accommodating. The hotel itself is just off the Market Square which puts everything within easy walking distance.
Negative: The hotel’s location, while a strength, is equally a disadvantage. Being in the city center means that the street tram runs right alongside the hotel. The trams run 24/7. Their noise is quite noticeable, even on the highest floors. Pro tip: Book/request a room whose last two digits are 08 or lower (e.g. 306, 402). These rooms are on the opposite side of the hotel from the tram, making the noise far less of an issue. Rooms that end in 09 through 16 (e.g. 412 or 316) are on the side facing the tram and the street.
